Tammy, just a few words to thank you for the work you put in with me and Ms CoCoba. Her many idiosyncrasies make her a fun dog to work with but with the odd challenge thrown in to keep me on my toes. Without your guidance and knowledge I'm sure it would be a different story. We are working on her issues around restraint at the vet office and I will keep you updated on how that goes. Thank You is not enough to convey how much your support of me with my funny little dog means. You really are a star when it comes to helping people and their pooches. Maria
We are just sitting on the deck getting our morning going! Scout has had a good week, and I continue to see him becoming calmer and happier. He has let Lynsey greet him without peeing! Yay! Has had the opportunity to practice leave it and mine with my shoes! Yay! Calmly watched the guys mow the neighbors yard.... He still needs to bark at the dogs that walk by, and He's really enjoying his bones and Kong treats. It's been a little hot for me take him out in the late afternoon to walk, but we'll go out early on the weekend and practice. In the meantime he's practicing walking behind me and getting treats. The frenetic behavior is hugely decreased, and he seems much happier, and so am I! Thanks so much for teaching us ! We still have a ways to go, but the results up to now are encouraging. We'll see you when you come here in a week or so, and I'm sure we'll be ready for more! Sally
I found All About Dogs searching the net. I needed to bring my grand dog, a Shiba Inu, named Maya to training classes as Shibas can be naughty if they are not trained and socialized well. The classes were such fun for me as well as Maya. I could tell she was enjoying the classes because she dragged me into the building every week. In the 6 week session Maya learned how to sit, down, down stay, leave it, walk on a loose leash, leave it (take it) and come. A very important lesson we also learned was to teach her an emergency recall word which we decided on "Bingo". Everyone in the class helped each other's dogs learn their emergency recall word. The dogs had so much fun and made us all laugh! Too cute! After Maya's training, we were traveling with her and she got loose from us (sneaky girl)! We were at a huge hotel on a VERY BUSY highway. She got about 5 doors down when we screamed "BINGO!!" Maya stopped in her tracks and turned around and ran back to us as fast as she took off!!! I am not sure what would have happened had we not learned how important it was to have trained Maya for an emergency. One of the fun things we did for homework was to teach our dog a trick and to have her come back the next week to show everyone how we taught it and of course show off our dog. This exercise was not only fun but it really made you think! We were able to teach Maya how to "Shake", "High Five" and "Stick em Up" (over achievers??).

I am looking forward to taking the next session with Maya to work on her skills and of course for her to play (socialize) with the other dogs and humans!

After months of looking, we found our perfect fur baby match (2-year old female Boxer) at the Plano Animal Shelter. We knew little of her background. We discovered soon after adoption that she was dog aggressive. Tammy came highly recommended by the Animal Hospital of Melissa staff. We soon had an appointment set for an in-home training session where walking skills were worked on. She soon after invited us to sign up her one of her training classes. Knowing our dog was aggressive to others, we initially declined. I don’t know what changed our mind, but we signed up! Soon after graduation were successful visits to the dog park, and Gabby has many friends in the neighborhood. We feel Tammy trained US more than Gabby, and gave us the tools to better guide our dog. We then found out we were expecting, and Tammy gave us many tips to prepare our dog for the changes that were coming. There was an adjustment period of a few days after bringing baby home, but Gabby became well-adjusted and just perfect for a growing family. If only Tammy could give us the skills to manage our toddler better, life would be perfect!

It was a stroke of luck when I found Tammy at All About Dogs. I had just adopted a rescued pup from Legacy Humane Society and was checking into doggie daycare possibilities. I was starting my own business at the same time (I know, it was a crazy idea to do this at the same time) but I had found my perfect pup. Beau had not had much interaction with other dogs at 12 weeks besides his brothers and sisters. And, in this situation, his Mom was not rescued until later. He was one wild little guy!!!
The first class I enrolled in was fantastic. Tammy takes great consideration in grouping the dogs in classes where they will thrive the most. Beau's classmates were all just as wild as my little guy!!! We were all on the same level...starting with the basics. This class taught not only Beau the basics of being a more well-mannered dog, but taught me more as a new puppy owner. I appreciated the fact that Tammy's training techniques are fun for the dogs AND the owner. We moved on to the next class level, as well. And some of Beau's buddies did too. It was a great situation and natural progression to continue classes with his friends.
Tammy has been such a help to me, personally with Beau and professionally in my business. I feel comfortable in calling her when I have a question about dog training, dog behavior, what you feed your dog...I could go on forever.
Thank you, Tammy!
